Road safety and new routes
The road is an exciting place. It is also used by almost everyone. There are road rules, road signs, and even the unspoken rules of the road. Similarly, the roads seem to shrink in size almost every year. However, it’s more likely that the amount of traffic is on the rise. The experienced courier, practices road safety, at every turn. As well as every straightaway.
With this in mind, road safety takes on a new meaning when there are road obstacles. For example, road construction. This dilemma can show up almost anywhere. Furthermore, when it does, it can be tedious and slow. One way to avoid this, is with new routes. A new route can mean a better experience. For everybody, combined.
A new route doesn’t have to be new. It can be familiar and still feel new. Similarly, road safety is a big part of any new route, or familiar new route. Particularly when it isn’t a normal routine. This is one of the unspoken rules of the road. When in doubt proceed with caution. This goes doubly for construction zones.
Road Safety
One of the reasons a courier might need a new route is the unknown obstacle. For example, a road closure, or a traffic emergency. This is when that backup knowledge matters most. Moreover, road safety, takes the top priority when a route changes.

More often than not the route change is a have to thing. Most couriers lock in a route before they even arrive at the pickup location. It’s second nature for the courier to imagine the drive, and the various road obstacles. This is a vision technique, and the successful courier applies it liberally. Furthermore, the obstacles are things like red lights and stop signs. The more of these on a route, the longer it may take to travel the route.
In fact, this is a primary reason couriers are so selective about routes. The shortest distance between two points, is the first law of route selection. Road safety is the unspoken rule of every route selection. Stay safe out there.
