Road rules and three great ways to use them wisely

Following rules is something everyone does. Some rules are so routine, they are easy to follow. Without over thinking them, or dwelling on the possible down side. Additionally, some of those routine rules can help a courier with the bigger picture.

What is the bigger picture? A delivery completion. Particularly, the on-time delivery completion. Therefore, road rules assist the courier. They are a bonus. For example right hand turns, and u-turns.

Depending on location, either of these can be against the rules. However, when allowed, it can positively affect delivery times. Furthermore, road rules can even improve delivery times. In some cases.

    Road rules

For example high traffic situations. They are more manageable by using road rules to navigate. This is where the courier benefits from knowing the right of way laws. There are times this one strategy can save five, or even ten minutes, worth of red lights.

With this in mind, road rules are also on signs. Some of these signs with rules, are also laws. For example speed limit signs. When it is possible, the signs can also be usable road rules. Furthermore, the courier has the added advantage of using the signs for general assistance.

General assistance cannot be undervalued. Particularly in a time crunch. Which is another part of road rules. The unspoken rules, as it were. The essence of this thought, is the rush hour. This is a general rule. However, it isn’t a standard with a policy rule. This is more of an unspoken rule.

    Traffic

Everyone has a general idea of the traffic rush. Likewise, when it is most likely to happen. This is a fact or rule of the road. Depending on the courier’s mission, the goal may be to avoid the traffic. Or, maybe the courier needs to use the traffic to effect a change on the grid somewhere. It could happen. Stay safe out there.
