Ratings in a food delivery app and new delivery tools
The best thing about a delivery is the Sushi. If it’s not Sushi, then it has to be pizza. From there, the convenience of an at home delivery has got to be next. In fact, there are more than a few positive things about a delivery. One of the many is the variety of delivery choices available in today’s world. Way back when, the at home delivery was new. So there were only a few choices for a delivery.
With this in mind, those early days of at home delivery, had limits. There were very few merchants offering delivery. Furthermore, many of those only started because a brave merchant, or two, pioneered the process. Most everyone has heard about the thirty minute guarantee. It was a pizza delivery promotion. And it worked at first. Then the more popular it became. The more risky it turned out to be.
That was the very early days of at home delivery. These days there are apps for deliveries, as well as merchants with in-house delivery crews. Although it’s been many years since those early days, the process for a delivery completion is still the same. However, the tools of the trade have improved. Furthermore, there are more challenging conditions for the courier. Delivery zones are larger. Urban populations have grown. And insurance rates still run high, just to name a few. And then there are ratings.
Ratings in a Food Delivery App
Ratings are both pain and promise for the courier. Not every rating is a good one. And the list of things with ratings, grows consistently. For example, there are several different ratings for the condition of the delivery items. And not just when received by the drop-off location. Merchants are able to rate the courier as well. Similarly, there is a timer that tracks how quick the courier leaves the pickup location. Pro tip: Don’t linger.

The ratings in a food delivery app are many. Moreover some actually do come from customer feedback. While other ratings in a food delivery app, come from requirements in the app. For example, the acceptance rating. This rating tracks how many delivery offers the courier accepts, and how many the courier declines. Some food delivery apps place a high priority on this rating.
Similarly there is the completion rating, which is as its name implies. And the on time rating is used throughout a delivery. There is being on time to the merchant. Then there is being on time to the drop-off location. The list goes on. Indeed, there are even ratings for the condition of the delivery items at drop off. And this is in addition to confirmation pictures, and order verification.
New Delivery Tools
There are new delivery tools already in use by some merchants. One thing that has improved over the last couple of years is how merchants prioritize deliveries. With this in mind, every innovation is a possible time saver. One of the best examples so far is the food weighing smart scale. This delivery tool is what a merchant uses to confirm the accuracy of a delivery order.
Furthermore, it weighs the completed order. The merchant is able to set a bag of fast food items on the weighing scale. The scale determines the weight of the bag by the weight of each individual item in the order. If all the items are there the weight will be correct. If something is missing, the merchant can determine what it is, without opening the bag. Because the smart scale knows what the weight of every item on the menu should be.
Therefore with a quick weighing the merchant can verify the accuracy of the delivery order. Before it goes to the courier. This is going to cut down on many delivery errors. Furthermore it is helpful for the courier. Because couriers do not open delivery packages. Stay safe out there.
