Quality over quantity, when is that a good thing?
Getting a large amount of deliveries is ideal for the courier. More is better. Less is not. Moreover, the courier needs more deliveries per hour. Not less. How this is done, feels like more than just a challenge.
It is unsafe and unlawful to drive with excessive speed. Furthermore, speeding tickets are very expensive. It isn’t fiscally responsible to incur a $100 fine, to make a $5 tip. Not only does it not make financial sense, but also it isn’t safety conscious either.
With this in mind, it can seem unlikely there is a way to achieve better earnings. If the courier is only allowed to go a certain speed there is no way to profit. Similarly the courier will lose ground on long runs. Without an edge the margin for profit is slim.
Quantity
Any time there is a way to save time or resources it can benefit the courier. Not only the courier but also the drop off location. For example, extra hustle at the merchant. It seems like a small step to take, but it can have a ripple effect on the entire delivery.
In the same way, the selection of a route can influence a delivery. Perhaps there is another possibility with less traffic signals. Avoiding stops and any delay from a successful and timely completion.
These are all good ways to maximize the amount of completions the courier can make. Yet there are some deliveries that are just not meant to be fast. When this is the case, there must be a good reason. There really should be a good reason.
Quality
In some cases there is a good reason, it is the order and pay delivery. This delivery can feel counter intuitive. It also takes considerably more time than the standard delivery. Not only must the courier make the order, but also pay for, and then wait for the order.
This type of delivery is time consuming. It is also a preferred way of accomplishing a delivery in some cases. However, as stated, it is time consuming. If the courier is after a heavy volume of deliveries, the order and pay delivery should be skipped.
However, if the courier could use a productive downtime moment, this type of delivery is helpful. Some drop-off locations prefer this method of delivery. Not only does it mean the cargo will be freshly prepared, but also a courier will be waiting when the cargo is ready. I have personally done a few of these, and each has been a positive experience.
This type of delivery is more evidence that the hot fresh cargo delivery, matters. Quality over quantity matters. Anytime the courier can create an opportunity to increase earnings, it is a benefit to the courier. Stay safe out there.
