Pin driving and the love holiday delivery
It doesn’t take long for the courier to get busy on a holiday. In fact, some holidays are busier than typical busy days. Especially holidays like Halloween or Valentine’s day. The courier can expect to see plenty of activity, on these days.
With this in mind, delivery completions can become a thing of interest. It isn’t uncommon to get special requests. Furthermore, these requests might be unusual at times. As well as, unexpected. However, they can be fun and interesting.
For example the drop-off customer asks for the cargo to be left in a strange place. Maybe on a window sill, or the back of a car. Sound strange? It does happen. In fact, the courier can be put up to some unusual things, when folks are trying to get their romance on.
And no, nothing like that. (Before the imagination gets too wild.) It’s more in line with trying to help with a small surprise. The solo courier is only able to influence a small amount. It’s a a different scenario with a crew courier.
For example, the crew courier in a pizza joint will see some extra romantic maneuvers. Like the pepperoni heart. Or the surprise box lid ‘I love you‘ message. These requests can get imaginative. There are even heart shaped dough requests. (In most cases one needs to know the pizza maker to get that one)
It’s always good, when the courier can pull an assist. Especially on the love holiday. Likewise, speaking of pin driving, it’s an exercise in being aware of surroundings. Or it should be. Additionally, it can be useful, but is better when it isn’t the only method.
Pin Driving
Pin driving is driving to the pin on the map. No matter what. Similarly ignoring the additional clues or delivery details. This pin driving technique works, but can cost valuable time. Additionally it can pull the courier off course.
Therefore, using the pin as more of a guide, rather than a rule, is helpful. It is an approach that will allow for the additional details of the delivery to be considered. Using all the available clues and details gives the courier the best advantage for a timely completion. Stay safe out there.
