New delivery techniques and the time bump

The holiday season is always a positive factor in delivery work. It is the bread and butter of delivery, for a courier. The intensity and demand of the holidays can stretch resources pretty thin. Furthermore, time is always a factor. Either making more time, beating the time, or simply being on time. It’s in every aspect of the courier’s work.

With this in mind, improvement can be a benefit. Any time a courier can improve speed, or select faster routes, new delivery techniques are discovered. It can be as simple as discovering a better way to use the scanner. The one for that ID on the alcohol delivery.

This is similar to when the courier discovers a shortcut, in a known route. And it is actually very helpful. Additionally, it is true when the courier can find a quicker way to confirm a delivery pickup. Especially with the merchant. If it improves drop-off times, or saves fuel, it’s definitely a new delivery technique.

    New Delivery Techniques

On other occasions, the delivery techniques can be all about a clever parking strategy. For example, finding places to stow the ride, while the cargo is dropped off. Particularly places that will not ticket the courier for illegal parking. (It can happen, even with a delivery topper on the vehicle.) Perhaps there is a corner lot only the courier knows about. This means the courier can make a speedy pickup. In spite of the difficulty.

That is a delivery technique. Sometimes they are exclusive to the area the courier is working. Another good example of this, is road construction. Especially the big multi year projects. Couriers must develop techniques for regaining the lost time due to construction delays. Furthermore, avoidance isn’t always possible, so real and workable solutions are needed.

This is at the center of a courier’s new delivery techniques. Creating them as they are needed. When obstacles occur, the courier develops new delivery techniques to get around the obstacle. The goal is always to save time. Or get a time bump depending on how the courier utilizes it. And, of course, all of this translates into an improved customer experience.

    More About the Time Bump

It is a time bump, or time savings, when a new delivery technique leads to time saved. Not only does this lead to improved earnings, but also faster completion times. And all of it connects to the new delivery techniques. This article will be the first of a series that takes a closer look at couriers, and their delivery techniques. There is more here than meets the eye. So, stay tuned. And stay safe out there.
