Is a catering delivery better through a delivery app?

The catering delivery, is a very involved delivery type. The delivery itself, is usually large. There are many items. Not only food items, but also equipment and accessories. Add this to the setup of the order, and a deep involvement is guaranteed. Similarly, there are more items than the typical delivery, with a catering delivery.

This shouldn’t be surprising. Indeed, a catering delivery done through a delivery app, is labor and time intensive. Furthermore, it takes more time to pickup this type of delivery. This is in comparison to a standard delivery pickup. The new courier reading this, will need to know this, before accepting the offer from the queue. However, that is an unlikely scenario.

Only experienced couriers have access to the catering side of things. In fact, most delivery apps require higher ratings for the catering delivery. This is also the same for the crew courier working for a merchant. A catering delivery requires in-depth involvement. Therefore, experienced couriers received the offer first.

    The Catering Delivery

When this type of delivery pops up in the delivery queue, it carries a label. There will also be equipment reminders. These are equipment requirements for completing the delivery. Once again this is part of the prearranged requirements for the courier. Catering heat bags, and a basic cooler, are staples for this mission.

The crew courier will have access to all these things as well. In fact there will likely be additional tools and equipment for the larger delivery. It is also likely the merchant will have a developed system, for working the catering delivery efficiently. This is a benefit for the courier. It eliminates the awkward learning curve, the solo courier deals with.

The learning curve is a valid expectation for the solo courier. Each catering location is a new experience. A new experience with an unknown merchant. Therefore, the solo courier must try to be twice as diligent. Close attention to the delivery details, is a must. Taking extra time for a quality setup, is a pro tip every courier should practice.

Is it Better through a Delivery App?

The question of whether or not it’s better, is a good one. Better depends on the merchant. Better also depends on the courier. Therefore, maybe it’s best to say the catering delivery is more varied through a delivery app. There are more choices. Furthermore, only the more experienced couriers will have access to this type of delivery. This article is a basic look at the catering delivery. It will be one part of a larger series. More details are coming soon. Stay safe out there.
