How to spot a good offer from the queue
A good offer from the queue is not a rare event. In fact it is a positive when offers are popping from the delivery queue. This can indicate the flow of the delivery shift. An increase in offers can mean a rush is beginning.
With this in mind it is not helpful that there are only seconds to examine an offer’s details. Furthermore, once the offer passes it won’t be back. The courier must take in all the available details quickly. Then make an even quicker decision.
How to spot a good offer from the queue
Depending on the app being used, the amount of time allowed for consideration could be less. However it may seem like an impossible task gleaning details from a quick glance, at an offer screen. Especially if the courier is on the move.
Furthermore there are more than a few details on an offer screen. Additionally, there is a timer that is a constant source of information. Urgent information. It is counting down to zero. At a glance there is so much information to absorb, before the counter reaches zero.
This doesn’t even include the time it takes to mull over the details, and make a decision. Clearly this must mean there is a better more efficient way of selecting offers from the queue. The good news is there are definite ways of doing so.
Experienced couriers have different techniques for spotting good offers from the queue. In some cases it is about the location. Other times the courier may be looking to only go into a certain area. Therefore all the offers into that area are the ones the courier watches for.
With this in mind it is helpful for the new courier to have a rule of thumb to help guide good selections. This technique is easy and quick and will help the courier stay ahead of the timer countdown.
Spot a Good Offer
The method is as follows: When the offer flashes on the screen, first check the miles. How many miles will be traveled? Most offer screens display the projected miles traveled, somewhere on the offer. Next, check the guaranteed payout. The offers that pay a dollar a mile minimum are the good ones.
This technique or rule of thumb is simply that, a rule of thumb that one courier does. However, the formula works and is a good minimum to scout for. There are certainly better offers as well. Careful observation of the queue, is a best practice. Stay safe out there.
