There are many truths about delivery driving. Some have been in articles on this site. Others are a matter of experience. While it is true the work can be repetitive, it is also true no two deliveries are ever the same.

With this in mind there is cause to keep in mind the hustle part. Couriers that sign on to a crew, for deliveries, expect to run more than one delivery per shift. Otherwise, why? Furthermore, the accumulation of delivery completions, is bread and butter for the courier.

How to make every delivery a tip bonus

This is especially true for the crew courier. In most cases the courier that delivers with a merchant crew, also receives hourly compensation. Not to mention, many of the other benefits of being an employee.

Furthermore, this compensation is a definite paycheck. Therefore, the courier will be able to rely on it. However, it is also a help in an additional way. The paycheck helps to create a positive mindset. A positive mindset is useful in many ways.

A positive mindset allows the courier to put aside stress about pay. Indeed, the compensation is happening as the courier is making the delivery. The tip, if there is one, can be thought of as a bonus. With this in mind, the tip becomes a secondary matter.

The preceding example is more for the crew courier. A crew courier is likely to drive to a drop off location in good faith. With no prior knowledge of a tip. Compare this with the solo courier using an app and things change. But only in certain ways. For example prior knowledge of the tip. If offered.

However, this isn’t to say that the solo courier can’t create a bonus mindset as well. Indeed, there are many times the tip, in the initial offer, gets increased at the completion of the delivery. The bonus and the tip are there, they just have to be earned.
