How to cultivate a zone for better payouts
Completing a delivery takes time. How much time depends on the details. There are different types of deliveries, and each one is unique. Original.
Additionally, the details of each run can slow the overall roll. The job is the same with each delivery, but the details are different. Clearly, this is when attention to detail matters. And when complacency can help create hiccups. And slow the roll.
Therefore taking every advantage to safely complete a delivery, is a best practice. Advantages can be as simple as a shortcut. Or as important as accepting an offer the courier is familiar with.
How to cultivate a zone for better payouts
Solo couriers often frequent popular areas. This concept is working a zone. Zones can be any area that has more than a few merchants. Hovering in these areas is working the zone.
When the courier works a particular zone consistently, the chances of going to the same dropoff location again, are good. Better than good sometimes.
So, the courier cultivates a relationship with the dropoff location. By going there on a regular basis. This effect is also happening with the pickup, or the merchant. In fact, regular visits are a benefit for the courier.
It’s possible to rate the experience on each side of the app. Furthermore those ratings matter. When the courier thumbs up the good pickup, the algorithm takes note.
Additionally, the chances are good the courier will see more offers from that merchant in the future. If the courier is close in the zone, when the offer is available.
This is a positive step in creating opportunities that fit the courier’s particular goals. Having an area that is consistent in earnings is golden for the courier. Learning where those areas are, and when to be there, is part of cultivating the zone.
Better payouts
New couriers can easily begin this technique by choosing a mini zone. And then select a favorite merchant in that zone. Timing should be as close to the rush window as possible. Hover that merchant, and turn down any offers that are not from that merchant.
After each dropoff, return to that particular merchant location. Then, only accept offers from that merchant. This is the first step in developing a zone. However, there is no guarantee the courier will get many offers from that merchant. Other couriers are competing as well. Sportingly.
To cultivate a zone, takes time and consistency. It relies on the courier working the rush to increase the chances of a better payout. A reliable rush is golden, ask any crew driver. Stay safe out there.
