Courier’s working deliveries with an app, will encounter many types of deliveries. The solo courier has a wide range of delivery possibilities. Therefore, delivery opportunities offered in-app are varied.

This is part of the adventure in the delivery. Sometimes the unknown is what creates the adventure. Furthermore, the crew courier runs a static series of deliveries in a shift. The solo courier has a different experience.

The differences in the two delivery situations are becoming greater. A crew courier has reliable delivery circumstances. Not only is the delivery zone static but also the routes are reliable. Repeating customers are also more common. Prep times are reliable.

The ace

A crew courier doesn’t encounter the anonymously dispatched delivery. No such thing exists on the crew that delivers for a merchant. A tethered dispatch board is there instead. Moreover, a merchant has an established delivery zone. A known zone.

The courier using an app has a broader delivery base. Getting the same delivery two nights in a row is rare. Almost rarer than rare. With this in mind, it is possible to work a zone for months, and not have a repeat drop-off location. This is the larger delivery base at play.

Furthermore, it’s possible to deliver strange cargo. It’s also possible to deliver to strange places. Given enough time both of these are possible at the same time. Additionally, an anonymously dispatched delivery can happen at any time.

Anonymously dispatched

For the intent of this article the anonymous delivery is one that is unexpected. Not only unexpected but also from an anonymous source. With an app, and ‘leave at the door’ instructions this type of delivery happens.

Occasionally there will be special instructions for completing the delivery. These are important because the drop-off is not expecting a delivery. The courier may not be able to get anyone to the door. Also, someone may come to the door.

If the drop-off location is unaware of the delivery, contact may not be possible. This is not a problem in the leave at the door era. This makes an anonymous delivery possible. Even successful. One thing these deliveries have in common is the special instructions.

The anonymous sender will know the best way to make the delivery. This is a clue it’s an anonymous delivery. Perhaps the sender stages a surprise call or message at the time the courier knocks.
