How the cannoli shells made the special delivery

How the cannoli shells made the special delivery

It’s the little things that count sometimes. Although grand and amazing things are nice, sometimes it’s the little things that have the biggest impact. Maybe it’s holding the door for the person following. Or perhaps it’s letting the person with only two items go first in the long line at the grocery store. And this is just a couple of examples about making an average moment special, in some way.

With this in mind, a special delivery isn’t much different. Well, actually it’s the same, but different. Even experienced couriers might be scratching their heads on that one. However, it is something that most couriers practice. For example, the careful placement of the delivery items on a leave at the door delivery. The delivery items should be close to the door, but not so close that they block the door.

Placing the items on a chair or table that is close to the door is another way to add value to the delivery. These are small details, but combined, they are an overall positive experience for the customer. How about those extra tips that unexpectedly show up after the delivery is done? If they haven’t been happening recently, try a few of these smaller tips during more deliveries.

How the Cannoli Shells Did It

In today’s world the at home delivery is routine. It’s possible to get almost anything delivered. However there are some limitations. Although it may not seem like it, just ask anyone living twenty miles (or further) from their favorite restaurant. Unless the offer is very generous, most couriers will decline the delivery.

It becomes a special delivery when the offer is accepted. The customer will finally get their cannoli shells. And the courier will have an opportunity to add more value to the delivery. The quick message to update on the wait time at the merchant. If any. Then the update on the arrival at the drop-off location. These are best practices, and should be a part of every delivery.

In fact, whether it’s cannoli shells or caviar, the delivery works best when given priority status. Once upon a time there were no delivery apps. So unless the local pizza joint was selling cannoli shells with the thin crust, it wasn’t happening. That is one reason why the special delivery still rocks. It’s that one customer that lives in the boondocks, and can finally have their favorite food delivered.

    The Special Delivery

This isn’t really about the cannoli shells. Even though it is. To some extent. It’s more about the special delivery, and what makes it special. Finding ways to enhance that experience can be the difference between a delivery experience, and a great delivery experience.

A great delivery experience can be a memorable occasion. It can be the kind of delivery that sets the standard for future deliveries. For both the customer and courier. Furthermore, it is as easy as being attentive in every step of the delivery. Especially the meet at the door delivery.

It is very important not to underestimate the meeting at the door. Everything is important in those moments. From the courier’s handling of the cargo, to the greeting the courier uses. Which brings us to the topics for the next article. Until then, stay safe out there.
