Holiday delivery and a new season bonus
It’s that time of year again! Time to say goodbye to one season, and usher in a new one. And even though it is still hotter than damnit in some places, things are changing fast. The summer season is nearing its end, and the holiday season is about to take off. This is an especially important time for the dispatch courier. The increase in delivery opportunities, is inevitable. Furthermore, more time will be needed, to complete more deliveries.
With this in mind the dispatch courier benefits from the holiday season. Not only does the quality of delivery increase, during the holiday season, but also the volume of delivery. This becomes a direct bonus for the courier. Similarly it means less downtime between delivery offers. This in turn means the courier can spend more time delivering an offer, than analyzing one. Nothing says job security like a steady flow of deliveries.
The new season bonus carries more than just an increase in business. It is a change in the weather. Not all of these are bad. In fact, some of the elemental changes serve to help the courier. In other words they help create an atmosphere of improved earnings. Therefore it’s easy to anticipate the new season. And to not only anticipate it, but also prepare for it.
Holiday Delivery and a New Season Bonus
The holiday delivery is definitely a feature of the new season. Holiday delivery is a different type of delivery. For one thing, depending on the holiday, the list of open merchants is limited. Therefore there will usually be a wait at any, open for business, merchant. Furthermore, holiday hours of operation are usually different for the holiday. For example the merchant may close much earlier than normal.
A holiday delivery rush is more likely at dinnertime, if the holiday is also a bank holiday. This is because more people have the day off. One theory suggests that this is because people like to sleep late on a holiday. However, the timing of any rush fluctuates on a holiday. For instance a lunch rush will likely peak an hour or so later on a holiday. (The sleeping-in factor) The experienced courier will keep this in mind, and not leave the field early. Or leave that money on the table. So to speak.
This same principle applies to the late rush. Once again, depending on the particular holiday, the late rush can fluctuate. It can run much later than normal. Or it can start much earlier. The possibility of either, is a good reason to show up early, and stay late. Which is a good holiday delivery bonus, to go along with the new season bonus. Stay safe out there.
