Handle with care and don’t look in the bag
It isn’t the contents of the bag, but how well it’s sealed. In fact the contents of the bag are supposed to be a mystery to everyone except the merchant and the merchant customer. There is a system in place that tracks the order as the merchant fulfills it. After the cargo is sealed, it is up to the courier to fight through an army of obstacles, to deliver.
Never once opening the bag. It wasn’t necessary to look inside the bag, to get it from point A to point B. Particularly if seals and stickers have to be broken to do so. In fact, the seals and the stickers are all about making the package tamper proof. In other words, don’t look in the bag.
Handle with care
The merchant already knows what’s in the bag. The drop-off location knows what they expect to be in the bag. The courier only needs to know that there is a bag. Plus keep it upright. Then do the point A to point B. Then rinse and repeat.
Breaking the seals on a package is not for the courier. In the last few years as delivery apps have become more mainstream, merchants have improved packaging for delivery. One of the more innovative merchants is McDonald’s.
Their ability to package fountain drinks in their bags is definitely innovative. Furthermore, it is an excellent example of adapting the product packaging, to make it more deliverable. However, if someone asks, are the drinks in the bag, they are. Or, they are not.

It is acceptable to ask the merchant if the drinks are there. Additionally the bag is heavier with the drinks in it. If the merchant wants to open the bag, fine. However, they must also reseal it. This is until the drop-off location opens the bag. Then confirmation is possible.
The idea is cargo integrity. As well as courier integrity. The two are not mutually exclusive, for anyone taking the job seriously. This is why thermal bags, heat bags and cargo carriers are an advantage for the industrious courier. Handle with care, is more than just a suggestion. It is also a job description. Stay safe out there.
