A plan for the New Year! That is a great way to get a jump on the upcoming year. Make a plan, the year before. Having a delivery plan in place saves time. It’s the same as the Christmas delivery scene. Having a plan helps productivity. There are a limited number of merchants that participate in Christmas delivery. Therefore, it is productive for the courier to be aware of who they are, and when they are open.
Additionally, there will be crowds. Of couriers. Since there are fewer participating merchants, there will be more demand on the ones that are open. This is the best time to communicate with the delivery customer and provide updates on the delivery progress. Some of those wait times can be long.
Easy Christmas Delivery Tips
The long wait times are easy to handle, when the customer is in the loop. The courier can stress less, and focus more on making sure the cargo is intact, and accurate. A courier can ask about extras being in a sealed bag. However, the sealed bag is sealed for a reason. Couriers do not open packages, or break the seal on a sealed bag. That is for merchant, or customer, only.
With this in mind the Christmas delivery scene will ease up as the evening begins. The merchants that are open will sometimes close early so keep this in mind when accepting late in the day deliveries. The merchant may already be closed. If so the app will have a process for canceling the order.
Once the last delivery is complete, it’s time to think about the next important delivery event. The New Year celebrations. This is a busy time of the year for the courier. Particularly with alcohol delivery. Furthermore the New Year holiday falls in the middle of the week this year.
A Plan for the New Year
A middle of the week holiday, has a different pace, than a weekend holiday. Additionally, the courier will notice that the evening rush ends a little earlier, on a weekday holiday. This could be because of several factors but the biggest is probably having to go to work the next day.
In other words, many will celebrate the New Year holiday on the weekend before the actual weekday holiday. Therefore, a courier can benefit, by being prepared for a busy delivery rush weekend. Likewise having a plan ahead of time means the courier will have the best chance to improve those earnings. Stay safe out there.
