Delivery robots bring out the pioneering spirit
Robots are everywhere. They are in offices, retail stores and just about anywhere commerce happens. They take on different forms. Similarly, there are some that are formless. Not like in the old terminator movies. At least we hope not. Nevertheless, there are robots at work and they are a growing trend.
With this in mind, it isn’t hard to believe the delivery robots are on their way. In fact, they are already working in some areas. Once again they take on unusual forms. (Are we sure this isn’t a time loop of some kind?) And with those forms, they attempt to complete a delivery. Or, based on the examples, they get close to the drop-off location and wait for the delivery customer to complete the delivery.
It does seem to have potential. However, the scenario above isn’t a meet at the door special. Furthermore, there are still a few hurdles to leap, before the delivery robots come into their own. In other words, the human couriers still have some time, before they are replaced by the machines. Even then there will be some trial and error. Not everything a human courier does, can be copied by delivery robots.
Delivery Robots
Not everything a human courier does, can be copied by delivery robots. However it is also true that a human cannot copy everything a robot does. For example, super strength, or a hidden mission to take over the world. But those aren’t the only things delivery robots might excel at. Furthermore, they might just be the next innovation in at home delivery.

Just like the automobile, delivery methods adapt and change, over time. Once upon a time it was inconceivable that a mapping system could be in a phone. However, it changed almost everything when it happened. Especially at-home delivery. It can even be said that the GPS systems in phones, had a certain pioneering spirit.
Flash forward to delivery robots, and that pioneering spirit reveals itself once more. Will they be able to do everything a human courier can do? Maybe, but most likely not. Experienced couriers can probably vibe with the ways in which the last sentence is true. Of course that is also from the human perspective. Although, if I were a robot, I would say the same thing about humans.
The Pioneering Spirit
Ultimately, it’s about the innovation and improvement of the at home delivery model. If that means delivery robots become a stabilizing force, so much the better. Does it also mean they show up in uniform? Currently it’s hard to say. It doesn’t appear that robot clothing stores have hit the mainstream yet.
However, it might be awhile before the first lifelike robots start super jumping onto front porches. There may be more testing. Or, maybe they will hit the ground running. So to speak. There are likely more than a few bugs that need sorting. Among other things. Anything on the edge of the pioneering spirit, will need consistent research and development. Even delivery robots. Stay safe out there.
