Delivery incentives and better results for couriers
The delivery experience is largely about convenience. Most customers ordering delivery are trying to save time. Or perhaps the goal is convenience. In some cases, the delivery experience is to celebrate a special occasion. No matter the reason for the delivery, there will be a courier ready to fulfill the request.
With this in mind, it is important to consider delivery incentives. However, the ones offered to a customer, differ from the courier’s incentives. There are many of those, and they are useful for delivery customers.
The delivery incentives offered to couriers, create better results for improved earnings. Furthermore, the solo courier using a delivery app will have better results, due to incentives. The advantage compared to the crew courier is significant. In fact, the crew courier doesn’t have all the perks a solo courier can achieve.
Delivery Incentives
The crew courier is part of a queue of drivers. Every courier is in a predetermined order. The next delivery available, on the dispatch board, matches the next courier in the queue of drivers. The incentive here, is the fairness factor. In other words, each courier has a fair chance at the higher tipping deliveries. However, the other side to this is the non-tipping deliveries. They are rare but still exist.
The fairness factor is the incentive. This means the queue of couriers cannot just, pick and choose, preferred deliveries. If that were the case, non-tipping deliveries would not get delivered. It might seem unfair that a courier would have to accept a non-tipping delivery. However, it is more unfair, for one courier to take all the higher tipping deliveries.
Delivery apps are not too far away from this delivery incentive model. There are many ways a delivery app offers incentives. However, the goal is the same as for the crew courier. Getting the courier to accept offers. And not just the very best offers.
Better Results
Furthermore, not every delivery will be a high tipping delivery. But if the courier stands to gain something else, that is valuable, that is an incentive. It encourages the courier to accept less than stellar offers.
Different delivery apps have different incentives. They are not always easy to achieve. In fact, some require diligence and commitment. However, the opportunity for improved earnings, from incentives, is real. For example, consistent access to higher paying offers.
Other incentives include the opportunity to work anytime. This is without scheduling a shift. As mentioned earlier, there are many different incentives. They vary depending on the app being used. However, they are a benefit for the courier. And in some cases, the increase in earnings, is significant. Stay safe out there.
