Delivery fees and special requests the heart of a delivery
The heart of a delivery is important. In fact, the delivery that has no heart, is just a delivery with delivery fees. Similarly, delivery fees, are at the heart of every delivery. As are special requests. In fact, three out of three deliveries, have delivery fees. However, not every delivery has special requests.
With this in mind, it is easy to confuse certain elements of a delivery. One feature of a delivery, is the delivery fee. Oftentimes the delivery fee and the tip, appear to be one in the same. However, this is not true. The tip is a separate payment. Additionally it goes directly to the delivery driver, for services rendered. The delivery fee, is a charge from the merchant or app.
Special requests are also possible. On every delivery. Although they don’t happen on every delivery. But they can. Furthermore, the special requests can cause further interaction with merchant staff. This becomes more difficult depending on the volume of business occurring at the time. In other words an overwhelming dinner rush. Or the lunch rush…
Delivery fees and special requests the heart of a delivery
It is commonplace for the delivery fee, and the delivery tip, to become confused. It is still relevant today. In many cases the delivery customer, sees the charge for a fee. Once seen, it is then assumed the fee is a tip. This assumption obscures the fact that there is no tip. However, through checks and balances, the courier will receive a small delivery fee.
This is not the same as special requests. However, there are times when special requests are not possible. Or they require additional payment. Depending on the special request, there may or may not be a wait involved. Furthermore, the merchant seals the cargo once packaged. A special request from the delivery customer that requires the breaking of the seal, will be delayed.
Delivery fees, and special requests, are at the heart of every delivery. The courier relies on these attributes to create a positive customer experience. Attention to detail is a courier first priority. Mindfulness is an ideal way to handle special requests. It is a benefit for the courier. Additionally it is a benefit for the delivery customer. The delivery fees are a part of it and do not always help the courier. That is what the tip is for. Stay safe out there.
