The courier is waiting for a pickup. In the next scene, the courier is waiting at the red light. The scene after that one, has the courier waiting in a dark driveway, for a text. The driveway is the correct driveway. Furthermore the contact info is accurate and reliable.

With this in mind, it isn’t the tech that is causing all the delays. In fact, the tech is a helpful reason why the delivery completion is quick and wrinkle free. Furthermore, the tech simplifies the delivery process. If it weren’t for the tech, a leave at the door delivery, would be much less effective. And likely not as accepted, due to lack of discovery.

However this article isn’t about relying solely on tech. It’s true that tech is an extension of the delivery process. Therefore, it benefits the courier to have the most advanced tech possible. This is possible for the crew courier, as well as the solo courier using an app. Yet, non tech skills are still needed for the most accurate and quick delivery completion.

Similarly other forms of technology can further aid the courier’s quest. For example, red light traffic technology. The tech that tries to create a smart traffic flow. Sometimes it might work depending on the city where it is deployed. It is the opinion of this courier that it doesn’t always work. (Same thought at each and every redlight)

The green lights are chill. Furthermore they help secure a faster delivery completion. Additionally the traffic reports on the radio are useful for avoiding traffic delays. And the GPS map also has details on traffic. This extra GPS info is a bonus resource for route selection.

Finally, it wouldn’t be an article about tech if it didn’t include safety. Or to be more specific, tech for safer delivery completions. In recent years apps and merchants alike have increased safety resources for couriers. Once upon a time delivery driver jobs were among the most risky, and not considered very safe. The courier took on a lot of risk in those days.

Safer completions

However safety has improved with delivery apps and merchants alike. Furthermore, the courier of today’s world, has more resources and tech to enhance safety. Becoming familiar with these resources and how to quickly access them is a best practice. Even if the courier has self supplied security safeguards, it is still a benefit to know all that are available. Particularly when they are at the fingertips. Stay safe out there.
