Delivery delay
It’s the little things. Especially in a successful delivery. It’s also the little things that can lead to an unsuccessful delivery. One delivery can be a pivotal moment in a delivery shift. This can mean the difference between stellar earnings and not.
It comes down to numbers. Therefore when those numbers get nudged the wrong way, so do the earnings. Furthermore, one heavily delayed delivery can sack the momentum. It is the momentum that makes the hourly pay comparable to lawyer’s pay.
Delivery delay extreme
With this in mind it is a goal for the courier to get a minimum of two deliveries per hour. Not only is this achievable, but also an excellent way to track personal stats. Furthermore, it keeps opportunities for more, flowing. This same formula works for the crew courier. However, it is possible to double that 2 to 4, deliveries per hour. Respectively.
Clearly these numbers are the best case scenarios. There will be times when things are better. And times when they are not. When the goal is two deliveries per hour the hour is automatically divided. The more deliveries in the hour, the more divided the hour.
With this being said, the delivery delay can do more than slow down a delivery. If it’s long enough, it can slow down an entire rush. Furthermore, the courier can become entrenched in a quagmire if not careful.
For example, waiting so long it becomes a loss to unassign the delivery. This can easily happen with a delay. When a courier arrives to pick-up cargo, it is planned the cargo will be ready. If the cargo is delayed, the courier can choose to wait, or not to wait. This is up to the courier.
How to salvage a lost delivery
Delayed cargo is not uncommon. However, long waits while cargo is being prepared is not the point of a prearranged delivery system. Furthermore, the cargo has time to be prepared before the courier arrives. So what happens if the courier has decided to wait and the delay has already gone beyond the quoted pick-up time?
Furthermore, can the courier have an extreme delivery delay, and then salvage the delivery? The short answer is yes. However, the technique will have to be in the next article. This topic is too broad for one article only. Additionally, it involves the courier’s ratings and stats. These are directly related to potential future earnings.
Therefore, the details will be continued, in the next article. Until then, stay safe out there.
