Counting in the delivery and a better customer advocate
Phone charger? Check! Plenty of gas in the ride? Check! Heatbag and coolers? Check! Looks like it’s a go for deliveries! Furthermore, it’s the beginning of a rush window!
This is a better than average start to a delivery shift. Once the circumstances are aligned this well, prosperity can be as close as right around the corner.
Likewise, surfing a good rush is courier prime time. Every opportunity the courier has to move ahead in time, is golden. The only thing better than timely completions, is faster than expected completions. Minimizing chances for mistakes, by paying attention to the details of the delivery, is the mark of a good courier. And a profitable one.
Better Customer Advocate
However, there are deliveries that come off the rails. And the courier is also an advocate for the cargo, as well as, the delivery customer. Getting cargo to the dropoff location is the main purpose of the courier. The courier may have to go the extra mile, to have that completion. However, that is the mark of a better customer advocate.
There are times it becomes unlikely, or improbable that the delivery can be completed. Further, the courier will be among the first to know when a delivery has left the rails. This most often happens at cargo pickup.
Taking the extra time to contact the support staff for the respective app will benefit the courier. Canceling an order this way removes it from the queue.
Finally, there are two more points for consideration. Firstly the new feature in the Uber app, mentioned briefly in an article, in this link. It is called Trip Radar. It allows the courier to view multiple offers at once. Among other things. More info coming soon.
Lastly, it is good to see the many new safety features the apps are putting into place. Another feature, the doordash app has added, is an additional benefit to the courier. It allows the courier to avoid circumstances that could be dangerous.
As always the courier’s safety should be at the top of the list of priorities. Stay safe out there.
