Closing the Gate on the Flight Risk
The summer season is well under way! Outdoor festivities and long summer holidays are the norm, and cool summer nights are short and sweet.
With the uptick in activity comes an uptick in deliveries. Couriers might notice, the greater volume of deliveries, shifting to later hours.
Couriers may also notice that some merchants are busier than others. Ice cream and smoothie shops see an increase in business as a result of hot days.
Changing times
Similarly, there are changes happening with the apps and the way deliveries are completed.
Leave at the door is reevolving to meet at the door.
Experienced couriers will remember the days when, meet at the door, was the only way to complete a delivery.
Not only meet but also greet!
The ‘no-contact’ model of delivery changed that, however, things are steadily changing back to the old normal.
Flight risk
Meeting and greeting at the door requires no special skill! Furthermore, it might become necessary to greet fur babies, as well as, the customer.
An encounter with a furbaby can be a delight. They are energetic and eager to see who has arrived, so, they can be a major flight risk, as well as, cute.
Spending thirty minutes helping catch a flight risk, is no picnic. Furthermore, if the courier has more deliveries waiting, they are behind in the times now.
Closing the gate
The presence of a gate, is a good indicator of possible furbabies.
There are many styles of gates and fences. Chainlink fencing and gates, as well as, solid panel fencing and gates, are possible furbaby playgrounds.
Closing the gate is paramount! Both on entry and on exit.
This keeps the energetic flight risk safe, and the courier on track for the next delivery. Stay safe out there!
