Back to school deliveries and a better traffic plan
The summer season is almost over. And a new season will be starting soon. Rather than cooling down, the delivery scene is heating up. Indeed, this year has seen ups and downs in many areas. And in some cases, such as fuel, only the ups.
With this in mind, the changing of the seasons is an exciting prospect. Not only do the rush windows change up, but also the type of cargo changes as well. For example the closer a major holiday is, the more likely there will be an uptick in alcohol deliveries.
Additionally the courier may notice an increase in shop and deliver orders. Or grocery delivery requests, depending on the app being used. As always it is up to the solo courier which runs are accepted and which are not.
Back to school deliveries
With so many new possibilities arising, the evening rush is sure to increase exponentially. Particularly as we get closer to the major holiday season. This is a benefit for the courier. An increased rush is a recipe for possible increased earnings.
This change up is a yearly happening and therefore, routine. It coincides with the back to school season as well. In some areas schools also get deliveries. Consequently, the back to school deliveries are back in season. And all the kids are back in school.
This brings up the topic of a better traffic plan. The summer season has a different flow of traffic, on the roads. There are fewer vehicles, in some circumstances. Additionally there are no school buses or bus routes. When the back to school season starts, this changes dramatically.
In the school and holiday season, traffic becomes an obstacle that has to be planned for. Its increase and overflow are due to so many people using the roads at the same time. The experienced courier is always looking for the work around. Shortcut is another way of saying it.
The experienced courier uses alternate routes to counter heavy traffic and traffic jams. Furthermore, extra diligence on the road, is needed at this time of year. Not only are there more pedestrians, but also more vehicles. Skilled driving, not speed, avoids obstacles and makes for timely completions. Stay safe out there.
