Hello driver and welcome back. Welcome to all. What an exciting Halloween, the level and intensity of the after hours deliveries, was off the charts this year! Only encountered a few snafus, which got me thinking (uh-oh) about trying to find something, with no real idea of it’s location. Why is it always in the last place you look?
I know, because you found it. Simple. But that sure wasn’t simple, when I was a kid. As a kid I would sometimes lose things, and what a drag to try and find them. It would take forever, sometimes it was because I got bored looking around, and decided to take a break. Other times when I was so exasperated and ready to give up, my mom would say, ” it’s always in the last place you look.”
Didn’t think too much about that saying, until I actually found my lost item. And lo and behold, it was indeed the last place I looked. Mind-blown. The first few times this happened, it was super impressive. It was holding true. Every single time I located a lost item, it was always in the last place I looked. It was like having some valuable insight into the world, an edge. Lose something? No sweat! You know where it is, right?
That old saying is still as true today, as it was then. Maybe not as helpful, but true, nonetheless. Wouldn’t it be nice though, if it were possible to find that last place, first? Think of the possibilities! Trying to find something? It will be in the first place you look, and the last. Win, win!
Dangerously close to a paradox there, and that’s okay. A paradox can also be in the last place you look, especially if one knows to look there first. With this particular paradox, it stands to reason, that trying to find anything would mean anything found, first. Which would be great news when trying to find something.
Drivers are always trying to find something. A particular road, a gap in traffic, an address number, a good tune on the radio. With all this searching and scouting, it’s easy to understand why it would be a game changer to find everything in the first place searched. The time saved is notable, at the very least. Add the last place you look bonus, and it’s win win again. Nice!
This certainly seems to be a strange train of thought. And it is riddled with things that appear contradictory. Yet the point could be somewhere else entirely. It’s tough to say with this one, and there’s only one way to be sure. One would have to try and find it, and it’s a bit tricky, but possible, because it’s always in the last place you look.
