All the good features now for the fuss

All the good features now for the fuss

It was an unusual sight. Four couriers waiting for a delivery. Not only were there four couriers waiting but also they had been waiting for longer than five minutes. This is serious because anything over five minutes, means it’s closer to ten. Deliveries can go from hot to not in less than ten minutes.

With this in mind, the situation quickly turned to delivery discussions, and who was driving for what app. There are different discussions based on those answers. Furthermore, the apps appeal in different ways to different drivers.

All the good features now for the fuss

In this meeting of couriers the app being used was the door dash app. Every courier was waiting for at least one order. Additionally this was a good time to compare notes. It had to be quick because someone would be leaving soon. From there the courier crowd would scatter.

All the good features, now for the fuss

Therefore, the conversation quickly became about all the good features in the app. Now for the fuss. Specifically, the new drop delivery without penalty, feature. This latest improvement is actually that. An improvement. It gives the courier the option to continue waiting for an overdue pick-up. Or to drop the delivery at this point, and release it back to the queue.

This prevents a pick-up from becoming a held in limbo event for the courier. If the wait has been excessive, the app will toggle the question. If the courier accepts the offer, the delivery is released. Additionally, if the courier decides to continue waiting for the pick-up, it’s possible.

While this topic was interesting, there were other things to talk about. For example, the dash on the way feature. This feature is very useful and helpful for far away deliveries or deliveries outside of the courier’s current zone.

    Now for the fuss

The advantage is the courier doesn’t have to drive all the way back to the starting zone. Just to become active in the system. The queue will be open to the courier in the current zone. Furthermore, the app will search for a delivery that goes back to the starting zone of the courier.

This feature is a welcome addition to the system. Moreover, it allows the courier to accept more far away deliveries. Respectively. Perhaps the best part is the saving of resources. In fact, the courier also saves time because there is no long return mileage. To a far away starting zone. With an empty cargo hold. Stay safe out there.
