A successful SpaceX launch is more than just routine
It was 5:10 in the morning when the notification arrived. A Starlink Mission! Once tuned in, it was a spectacular countdown to the launch! Anyone with the chance to see a SpaceX launch knows what is in store. From liftoff, to MaxQ then the separation of the booster. From there it is the controlled free fall of the booster, back to the earth. Then it comes in for an astounding upright landing. Usually on a drone ship in the ocean.
Similarly, there is sometimes a chance to view the fairing separation. In space. Then there is the deployment of the Starlink satellites. And all of this is on video. It is an amazing thing to witness. Especially by a generation that remembers the moon launch all those decades ago. In fact, being a member of that generation, it is amazing to see what SpaceX accomplishes, routinely.
With this in mind, it is unusual there isn’t more about this in everyday news. After all, history is being made here. Routinely. Ever since the good ‘ole days of the space race, there has been much activity in space. And it hasn’t been all UFO’s. SpaceX makes rocket reuse, a reality. And rapid rocket reuse, a plan. Furthermore, SpaceX makes a manned mission to Mars, a primary objective.
