A new super speed safety alert and the lobby games
The Fall season is one of the most colorful seasons of the year. It is also a cool down from the hot summer months. The change in the length of days and the cooler temperatures affect the road. As discussed in many articles on this site, road conditions play a major part in a successful delivery completion. Just a few degrees variance in road temperature can impact tire wear. While it may not be an immediate problem, tire wear is cumulative.
Furthermore, some road surfaces can accelerate tire wear. Additionally, road condition also plays a part. That is, road condition. As in, the condition of the road. There is at least one crappy road in every city. It might be a stretch but some cities may have more than one crappy road. Furthermore, when using one of these roads it is entirely possible to shred a tire. Not to mention completely rattle some suspension parts. They are not meant for super speed. In fact, these are roads that discourage speed.
However, super speed is so dangerous, it has to be the new safety alert. In fact, the problem is pretty bad. And now, one state is stepping up. Known as the Super Speeder law, the state of Georgia is taking steps to curb the problem. It’s a step in the right direction, because super speed has become all too common.
A New Super Speed Safety Alert
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! Nah, it’s just some nut driving a hundred and twenty, in a fifty five mile an hour zone. If you were fortunate enough not to have changed lanes at the moment the rocket blew past, you’re fortunate. Furthermore, the ones up ahead were almost not so lucky. The rub? The super speeder is almost always sitting at the red light up ahead. For all the super speed, they only got a hundred yards further along. However, super speeders appear to have no regard for the laws of physics.
The important thing about this trend is to be alert. It’s not always possible to see a super speeder until they are blazing past. Furthermore, remember to use the left lanes when passing. Otherwise, travel steady in the right lanes. That is for the United States. Respectively. The idea is to leave the passing lanes for the ones doing the passing. Especially if super speed is at play. And sometimes the play is tough to figure out. For example, lobby games.
This is relative to the hot fresh food courier. And almost every courier has been here at one time or another. The courier arrives at the pickup location. It’s approximately eight thirty in the early evening. There is a drive thru. However, there’s only a fifty percent chance the drive thru is the place to go. Sometimes the lobby is not open. When that is the case, the drive thru is the only option. However, a straight run to the drive thru often ends with a redirect to the lobby.
The Lobby Games
That is the lobby game. Guess wrong and the redirect is a pain in the tail. As well as time consuming. Furthermore, trying to back out of a drive thru is tedious work. Some of them are like the box canyons on the old western TV shows. Yet through all of this comes some positive news. A real time lobby check-in. Pick up merchants are able to update the dispatch screen of the delivery app. Not every merchant uses this feature, but more than a few do.
It is a real time alert. The courier will know to use the drive thru. Or, the lobby. This is an improvement. Mainly because the time it takes the courier to check the lobby doors is equivalent to five cars entering the drive-thru line. Best settle in because it’s going to be a minute. It is a courier best practice to check the app upon arrival. It’s already necessary to confirm arrival. Once done, check the details section once more. If there’s an update on the drive-thru, it will be there. It’s pretty helpful and saves a headache or two. Stay safe out there.
