A late night recipe for making better dough!
It is the late night rush! The courier is rocking the delivery scene and the offers are steady. Furthermore, this will continue until closing. This sounds like an excellent recipe for better dough!
Better dough is getting back to the basics. Every good pizza starts with good dough. Add some cheese and a dash of oregano, and presto! Pizza pie! Good pizza pie too!
But it all starts with the dough. No matter how good the toppings are, if the dough is not so good, the pizza pie is not so good.
Same goes for the courier trying to make better dough. Contrary to popular viral videos, not every delivery is a bad delivery. By the same token, not every delivery is a tipped delivery. Also, many are less than the cost of the delivery. However, the ones that are above and beyond, will win the day.
There’s a line in an old movie, that goes something like, “just when you thought it was over…” and the late night delivery scene is similar. Just when it seems like it’s over, and the courier has made the dinner plans, Boom! The next time the courier sees the clock, it’s after two in the wee hours of the morning.
Furthermore this isn’t an unusual event. The late night delivery scene has demand. As a result the courier has an opportunity to see a boost in earnings, for staying late. There are a couple of noteworthy things for the late night earnings opportunity.
Better Dough
Firstly it’s after the first night, or dinner, rush. If the courier has been running deliveries in the best rush windows, the dinner rush typically ends between nine and ten in the evening. The late night rush starts picking up in intensity around the eleven o’clock hour.
This happens with merchants that are open past eleven pm. There are few of these, so hovering the ones that are open, is a great way to be top in the queue. The proximity of the courier to the potential pickup, is important.
What to watch for, is a grouping of merchants that are open late. Even if some of the merchants are drive through only, it is still a viable setup. Late night drive throughs are mostly empty. Additionally, people with late night cravings for food, will offer good pay, for the courier’s time.
Especially if the dropoff location is unable to drive, or get the hot fresh cargo, otherwise. This creates a demand for the courier. And gives the courier a late night recipe for making better dough. Stay safe out there.
