A confidential look at the professional crew courier

Many articles on the Virtual Dispatch take into account the solo courier experience. Furthermore, the solo courier, is a courier that makes delivery completions using an app. Or a combination of apps. The solo courier doesn’t have a home base to check in with. The app is considered the home base per se. Additionally the tax situation, at the end of the year, is also different for the solo courier. Save those receipts always.

There are many differences between the crew courier and the solo courier. Even though they both have the same job duties. The obvious from the start, is the crew courier’s employment status. In contrast, the solo courier works each delivery as a contract. The advantage for the crew courier, is a static delivery zone, and a dedicated customer base. Additionally, there is the hourly pay, and the convenience of having a home base. Furthermore, the home base helps with problem deliveries.

With this in mind, there is a lot to consider, when choosing a potential crew. There are a few things a courier should observe. Especially how densely populated, an area around a merchant, appears to be. This is a non-data driven approach. Additionally, it helps to gauge a delivery area’s potential. This is an old school approach as well. It isn’t scientific, but if there are many neighborhoods within two to three miles of the merchant, there could be potential.

    A confidential look

This article is short and sweet. Not usual. Furthermore, the idea is to get the conversation going. Similarly, for the courier reading this, your help would be appreciated. Which do you prefer? Solo courier work, or crew courier work? Comments are welcome and any tips that could be shared will help couriers both new and massively experienced. Stay safe out there.
