A better delivery experience from stack strategy
The delivery experience is as important for the courier as the customer. Each detail matters and is a part of providing a better delivery experience. There are several ways the courier can up the game when it comes to a quality delivery. Punctuality, accuracy and courteous service, are a good example of stepping up the quality of the delivery experience.
Furthermore, most everyone prefers a punctual delivery. Especially where hot fresh food is concerned. In fact, the hotter the food is upon arrival the better. It is a memorable detail when a delivery arrives fresh and hot. For example, steam that pours forth from the cargo when it is handed to the delivery recipient. Likewise, when a delivery arrives cold and stale. It is also memorable.
It is the cold delivery, that will set the tone for that particular rating. Therefore, a timely delivery completion is essential to a better delivery experience. Furthermore, in almost every circumstance this is possible. However, there are times when the timely completion is held up. Or delayed. Additionally it isn’t a merchant or a late courier. It is a stack situation.
A Better Delivery Experience from Stack Strategy
In all the ways a delivery can be delayed or stymied, the stack delay can be the worst. The stack is a multiple order delivery. It can also involve multiple drop-off locations as well. However, not every stack situation is ideal. Fortunately the stack is about convenience. Or the attempt at convenience. Sometimes the attempt falls flat.
The ideal stack, is a combination of deliveries, that compliment one another in some way. Perhaps they are all from the same merchant. Or perhaps they are all going to the same neighborhood. Whatever the advantage may be, the courier can expect some convenience from a stacked delivery. The concept is to work smarter, instead of harder.
With this in mind, it is important for the courier to keep tabs on all the details of a stacked delivery. For example, passing by one drop-off location to get to the other drop-off location. Then backtracking to return to the first delivery location. This is a scenario that wastes time and resources. Additionally the delivery customer will feel confusion too. Their delivery was right there, and then it sailed right on by.
Stack Strategy
The order of the drop-off is not always available to the courier. It depends on the delivery app being used. Some delivery apps allow the courier to toggle between live deliveries. This allows the courier to set the drop-off order of the stack. In other words the courier is able to avoid driving past a drop-off without completing the delivery.
Another example of toggling is the delayed delivery. When the courier can toggle between the deliveries this can be remedied. Especially when there is more than one merchant. Similarly, this leads to organizing the stacked deliveries. This is another area of potential delay due to the complexity of the cargo orders. However a good stack strategy goes a long way towards simplifying things. All that in the next article. Until then, stay safe out there.
