A 1courier delivery return special – Tales of the Courier

The first trip in, was the job.The trip back out was the price for having the job. The second trip, is also the job. However, the return will be his pleasure. In fact, he may not slow down. Just toss it out the window. 1courier grins. He’s definitely feeling the burn. Of the return. Another hour, and this part of the return, will be history.

The rain continues to fall. According to the weather forecast, more is on the way.. Therefore the rain will be his traveling companion, this evening. With this in mind he is curious how his trackers are doing. A quick check of the m-com link reveals nothing. He taps the device. It doesn’t work. It never works to tap the device.

The rain falls thick as the ride slices through the deluge on the road. It’s not that 1courier is worried about his trackers surprising him. They lost the element of surprise three miles after he returned to the badlands. They were easy to spot because two of them had oily windshields. Furthermore, the rainfall must be a real challenge for them. 1courier grins again. This is becoming an unexpected adventure.

    A 1courier Delivery Return Special

As the miles unfold so does 1courier’s thoughts. HQ set up this delivery. Likewise, HQ set up the return. The question is who is setting up HQ? There could be no other explanation. The badlands are uncharted territory. It isn’t even known how much of the area is actually populated. Therefore the return must be orchestrated.

A roaring gust of wind blows the rain into sheets of liquid chaos. The windshield of the ride is inundated with cascading waves of rainfall. It’s all 1courier can do, to see the road. This was not cool. According to the m-com link, he still has another thirty minutes before the drop-off. Which is also the original pickup location.

    1courier

There is more than just a little wrong with this delivery. However, all he can do now is make the best of it. In whatever way he can. After he drops off the return cargo, he can blaze a trail back to Nalphia. Speaking of which. He turns and looks in the backseat. The strange package is still there. And it should be. In fact, why would he be concerned about it? The only time he left the ride was when he paid for his fuel.

    Tales of the Courier

The only time he left the ride was when he paid for his fuel. Furthermore, he kept the vehicle in sight at all times. As per the rules. There was no lapse. 1courier looks in the backseat again. It’s the same. Back out on the road the rain falls, and the miles slip away. The good news is he will be at the drop off in less than ten minutes.

With this in mind, he’ll feel better when the package is returned. After that all he has to do is leave the badlands. Leave them and return to the city of Nalphia.

Why? It keeps nipping at the back of his mind. Why run the delivery to begin with? Why would HQ even consider a return? It was unheard of under normal circumstances. And try as he might he can find nothing normal about the badlands. The m-com link flashes. He has almost arrived. The rain intensifies as he carefully scans the road for his landmark.

He was just here a couple of hours ago. Therefore, he knows what to expect. However, it wasn’t raining like a newly formed typhoon either. 1courier checks the m-com link. He is here. And he is completely unprepared for what is waiting for him.
